Daily duties: Online searches for KU research jobs and KU or Kansas-related research news stories. Keep OVPR news and employment web pages current. Minor fixes to content and links all OVPR web pages as assigned by webmaster.
Weekly duties: Check over 1000 web pages for broken links and out-of-date content. Move content of old web pages to new layouts. Rewrite content for clarity. Review web pages of various OVPR departments and propose ways to standardize type and layout of information presented. Read the website from the perspective of different end-users (politicians, members of the community, faculty, students, and researchers) and add content that would appeal to each of these groups. Using new website designs, created by the webmaster, build alpha versions of the OVPR site that are several levels deep. Propose large-scale reorganizations of OVPR website using these alpha versions of the website. Write content for the OVPR employee Intranet.
Special duties: Assist graphic designer with photo shoots by setting up lighting equipment, holding shades and reflectors, and taking notes. Occasionally frame or hang photos or artwork to adorn the halls of research centers.
